Job Posting

Who You Are:

You’re a passionate early childhood administrator and/or educator and leader who:

  • Loves children, teachers, and families, and believes in building deep relationships with each.

  • Knows that learning happens best through play, imagination, unstructured time, and the great outdoors.

  • Prioritizes parent communication, approaches with flexibility and empathy, and is always accessible and visible.

  • Values being accessible to children, teachers, parents, and synagogue staff.

  • Brings professionalism and structure while also fostering warmth, fun, and flexibility.

  • Believes in team building and will prioritize staff connection—holiday parties, staff appreciation dinners, and everyday joy.

  • Leads with collaboration, not control—your leadership is felt in your presence, not pressure.

  • Values the unique gifts of every teacher and helps bring them together with clarity, kindness, and shared purpose.

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

  • Classroom and leadership experience in early childhood education, with the ability to manage and inspire staff.

  • A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field.

  • A background in Jewish education, Jewish communal life, or a genuine interest in learning and connecting with Jewish values and traditions ("Jew-lite" counts too!).

  • A growth mindset and experience guiding teams through change and collaboration—especially helpful as our synagogue explores a potential merger with another local Congregation.

  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including families, teachers, clergy, and community members.

  • A belief that family comes first, and that a flexible, understanding workplace makes for a stronger community.

Schedule & Structure:

  • We are looking for a full-time position with normal hours revolving around school open to midday, with flexibility based on situation and need.

  • Ideal for a seasoned educator, possibly even someone retired from teaching but still eager to make an impact in a leadership role.

What You’ll Do:

  • Report directly to Synagogue Executive Director who reports to our Board President.

  • Build trusting relationships with children, families, and staff—from the hallway to the playground.

  • Partner with our Executive Childcare Coordinator to ensure the continuity of daily operations of the school.

  • Maintain clear roles, protocols and responsibilities across the team.

  • Support and empower teachers and ensure a continuity of our school culture and resident processes.

  • Serve as a point of calm and confidence during moments of growth or change.

  • Be a welcoming, steady, and joyful presence in the life of our school.

We Believe:

A good fit is felt in the vibe—in how someone makes others feel the moment they walk through the door. We trust our gut, and we believe in a leadership style that says: “You matter. I see you. We’re in this together.”
